Germany Calls Out Russia for Cyber Attack and Electoral Interference

Germany has accused Russia of launching a cyber attack on its air traffic control and attempting to influence its upcoming federal elections, summoning the Russian ambassador as tensions rise.

In a significant diplomatic move, Germany's foreign ministry has accused Russia of orchestrating a cyber attack against its air traffic control in August 2024 and attempting to interfere in the federal elections scheduled for February. This accusation came with a promise of counter-measures aimed at holding Russia accountable for its actions, emphasizing close coordination with European allies. The Russian embassy has yet to respond to these allegations.

The spokesman said that Germany, in close co-ordination with its European partners, would respond with counter-measures to make Russia pay a price for its hybrid actions.
